BOO-YAH! PLAY A TRICK THAT'S A COMPLETE TREAT!
Here's a fun activity to do during the weeks before Halloween. (Maybe you're already aware of this tradition, but it is sort of new to me as I just discovered it about 2 years ago.) Some people call it Boo-ed but I like to call it BOO-YAH! Basically, what you do is prepare a treat bag for a friend and sneak to their front door any night before halloween. Quietly attach a BOO-YAH poster to their door, ring their doorbell and RUN like a bat out of halloween! Then, find a good hiding place and watch the reaction of your friend. In my part of the world, this tradition is typically followed by the recipient yelling "BOO" and "THANK YOU" out into the darkness. (Then they close their door and race to their window, peeking out, trying to catch a glimpse of their mystery delivery person.) The BOO-YAH poster you leave them has some simple instructions explaining what the tradition is all about and invites the recipient to repeat the tradition two more times before Halloween night. Recently, I've been foregoing candy as the treat and my BOO-YAH bag features non-edible goodies like a RIPPY construction sheet, glow sticks and even some LEGO minifigure mystery bags. You can
download my BOO-YAH poster by clicking here and use it yourself!
